OUR STORY
In the Fall of 2022, Liberty University Formula Racing began on a journey to design, manufacture, and compete in FSAE Michigan 2023.
After the FSAE project approval, recruitment for the FSAE team began. True to our mission to inspire a culture of innovation, our newborn FSAE team started design work on an internal combustion formula-style vehicle, though immensely more technically demanding and challenging than any engineering project the students had previously faced.
Moving into our second vehicle journey, our team secured partnerships with Hendrick Motorsports and local machine shops such as Lynchburg Machining and SE&M. Not only did we see professional interest, but our team saw tremendous student interest and grew to over 50 members, all excited to tackle a new challenge. Since our team was born, we’ve seen remarkable dedication, growth, and perseverance through challenges that solidified our team’s mission to achieve excellence and honor and glorify God.
FORMULA SAE
Formula SAE competitions are opportunities for teams made up of undergraduate and graduate students to challenge themselves with the creation of small, formula-style vehicles. Student teams will compete with other teams in skill, design, and creativity, and gain real-world experience in the process.
